whoop

my mom has, believe it or not, decided that having a dog would be a good idea.  no, we do not have a dog, but instead of years of building up responsibility, it will probably be NEXT YEAR or maybe christmas, if we don't do presents!  i think i know what puppy we will get..

he doesn't have a name and he's 450 dollars.  if you have a name please comment.

wow!

i actually, (believe it or not) have another blog.  it is about my first book, and i think you
will like it.  here is the link  rise of the elves

whoa! raccoons!

yesterday, i was playing with my little brother, chocolate chip, when he jumped up and said, "look! on the deck!" i slowly dragged my eyes from the book i was reading, and while i was doing that, my older brother, cookie dough, yelled, "whoa, raccoons!" and instantly i was up on my feet.  and there they were.  two adorable raccoons.  a mom and a baby.
the stopped at our deck rail, and the mom climbed up, the baby following.  i told my little brother to go get my mom, and soon everyone was down there looking at them.  the mom left before my parents could get down there, but the baby was still there.

this is what happens when you leave bread on the deck for the birds.

dog breed of the week.

The Schnoodle is a cross between a Miniature Schnauzer and a Poodle. Schnoodles are charming, funny and smart, and their alert nature — thanks to that double dose of Schnauzer and Poodle attentiveness — makes them excellent watchdogs. They are small dogs and typically have a curly coat that must be clipped regularly

the door within trilogy.

The door within is a really great book that i will approve for basically anyone who is fine with reading violence and battles and somethings that are creepy.... other wise it is a great book.

the ice cream scoop on JULY 4th!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy independence day!  where we have picnics, watch fireworks, etc.  and it's fun, right?  when your dog cowers under the couch because of fireworks?  well, in my area of the U.S, it's raining.  and i'm wondering if we can still do fireworks??

the ice cream scoop on dog breed of the week!

Border CollieThis is a medium dog of strong bone, slightly longer than it is tall, combining grace, agility, substance and stamina. Its trot is smooth, ground-covering and tireless, moving with stealth and strength. It is able to change speed and direction suddenly. Border collies must be able to display incredible agility even after working for long periods. The coat can be either smooth or rough. The smooth coat is short all over the body; the rough coat is medium to long in length and flat to slightly wavy in texture. Its expression is intelligent, alert, eager and full of interest, a reflection of its temperament.  once again the info is from dog breed info.

the ice cream scoop on dog breed of the week.

collie

Collie
The collie is an active, lithe, strong dog that combines strength, speed and grace. Its gait suggests effortless speed as well as the ability to change speed and direction instantly, as required in herding dogs. The coat can be of two types, both with a soft, abundant undercoat. The outer coat of the smooth variety is short, hard and flat; that of the rough variety is straight, harsh, abundant and long, particularly on the mane and ruff. The collie's expression is an important hallmark of the breed, and depends upon the shape and balance of the skull and muzzle, as well as the characteristics of the eyes and ears. It should be bright, alert and intelligent — traits accentuated by a fairly refined head (once again,  this info was supplied by dog breed info)

the ice cream scoop on chocolate chip scones.

chocolate chip scones are basically chocolate chip cookies without eggs.  here's the recipe.

ingredients.

1 1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
pinch of salt
1 cup chocolate chips (my favorite ingredient)
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons butter, melted
additional sugar for sprinkling (optional)

directions:
preheat oven to 375. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.  Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl; stir to combine. Toss in the chocolate chips and stir to blend. Add the heavy cream to the flour mixture just until the dough forms.  Knead the dough very breifly with well floured hands to ensure even mixing.

Using a large spoon, drop rounds of dough onto cookie sheet.  Brush lightly with melted  butter.  Sprinkle with additional sugar if you are using it.  Bake 15 - 20 minutes.  Oh, and this is the most important direction of all.  ENJOY!

the ice cream scoop on my first book review.

before i show you, i want to apologize for not doing a post yesterday.

my first weekly book review.

Ranger's Apprentice series.

Ranger's apprentice is an awesome series that i, for one, would not reccommend to children under 10 because of language.  there is also a lot of violence.  but, all in all, it's a great series.

the ice cream scoop on 1st dog breed of the week.

each week, every tuesday, i  am going to update a different breed of dog.

here is my first breed of the week.

Doberman Pinscher

Doberman Pinscher

The Doberman is compactly built, muscular, powerful and square-proportioned. It combines elegance and strength with speed and endurance. Its carriage is proud and alert, and its gait is free and vigorous. Its coat is short, smooth and hard, showing off the exceptionally clean-cut lines of this athletic breed.  (P.S. this info was given by dog breed info)
